A bruise usually starts off as a black and blue patch of skin and gradually turns green or yellow as it heals. You may find that the bruises on your body are painful at first, but they may start to itch as they heal.
Common areas of the body that bruise are eyes, nose and lips, and the bruises are often distressing and can take 2-3 weeks to heal.
Trauma (Tissue): Either from a physical altercation, athletic event, or an accident around the house, impact to the eye and surrounding region from a traumatic event is the most common cause of a bruised eye, nose or lips.
Surgery: Procedures performed on the face (such as Dermal Fillers, Blestophath Blepharoplasty and Rhinoplasty) may result in damage to the tissue around the eye, nose and lips and cause bruises.
Glycerol, which is the main ingredient of BruiseMD™, passes with water, through specific (aquaporin) channels in the skin and displaces the interstitial fluid of the bruise, thereby helping to displace the blood and reduce the appearance of the bruise. Use at least twice daily for best results.
